Vip cohort 4

“I want every little girl who’s been told she’s bossy to be told again she has leadership skills.” —Sheryl Sandberg, COO at Facebook

This is the desire of every single female entrepreneur who has come through our Virtual Incubation Programme. A desire to see the next generation empowered and ready to ignite change and to dominate every space they enter into.

In order to be this inspiration, we have to strive to do more. To be more. To aspire to more. The reality is that the “more” we require is already inside every woman because we have been designed to create and to give birth to it.

On Wednesday, 25 August 2021, a group of like-minded ambitious women gathered together to celebrate our Virtual Incubation Programme Cohort 4 Graduates who successfully completed the 2 week programme covering the following topics:

This programme not only teaches the entrepreneurs how to successfully start and manage their businesses but it also gives them access to experts within their industries to help them further explore their business’s potential.

In order to graduate from this programme, the participants (seen in order of mention in images below) have to successfully complete each module. The following female entrepreneurs graduated from this programme:

   Petrina K. Hangula

Cherith Wareley

Sakeenah Ponto

Abaasha Valentine

Pamella Munembe

Each female entrepreneur is encouraged to dig deeper and discover their “Why” behind starting their business. One of the graduates, Sakeenah Ponto, shared that she started her business, Sakeenah/s Catering & Events, as a means of survival and to create a legacy for her daughter.

We could never truly comprehend the value that female-led businesses add to our economy, but one thing that we do know is that if we do not take hold this opportunity to invest and empower female entrepreneurs, we run the risk of never realizing the full potential of our beautiful country, South Africa.

Women bring life. Women are power. Women are the carriers of our tomorrow.
