Virtual Networking Date Night - #TakeUpSpace2

Another successful Virtual Date Night by RLabs Women took lace this past Wednesday, 26th August 2020. This was definitely one for the books!

After a very eventful (hacked) Virtual Date Night event in May this year, before we knew it, it was time for the next event! This time around we were taking back our space with the theme of #TakeUpSpace2.

This Date Night was hosted by the extraordinary Christine Taphel of Hit@Thirty1. Our guest speaker for the evening was internationally renowned technology entrepreneur, Rapelang Rabana. Joining us for a chat on the couch we had Naomi Rouse, who has worked in girls education and women empowerment for 20 years. The discussions were so inspiring and we were absolutely honoured to have them as our guests for the evening.

We had an impressive pitching competition where 5 ladies bravely pitched their business ideas. After an audience poll, 3 business were chosen as the winners. These businesses will now go into our Virtual Incubation Program (VIP) which begins this week. Once they complete the program they will each receive a cash prize of R5000 each!

1st place: 

Ashlynn Erasmus. Ashcessories & Design. Focusing on providing affordable hair care and fashion accessories . 

Tied for 2nd place: 

Jodi Johnson. Prints of Peace. We provide positive prints on garments and accessible custom printing services.

Melissa Petersen. Ginger House. Catering and events ranging from baby showers to weddings.
